Meditation Monday: Background Meditation

The hardest part of a meditation practice can be just making the time to sit down and do it. Background Meditating is a great way to nudge along a mental and vibrational shift into a state that is more ready for a traditional meditation - and it's simple.

All you need to do is put on a guided meditation or some calming "spa type" music (I recommend the "Peace Meditation" Playlist on spotify) and just have it on in the background while you are doing your regular habitual activities.

Scroll your phone, do dishes, make some dinner...you don't even have to participate in the meditation. The goal here is just to swap out youtube, netflix or a podcast - content that is pushing stimulation at you, with the more spacious energy of the meditation tools.

The result is the calm will sink into you passively. It will help slow down your mind and bring you into a more calm and mindful state.
